Program Description

The BFA in Theatre Design is a very intense, full-time, demanding program offering specializations in scenic design, lighting design and costume design. Students work with award winning faculty designers in small group classes and one-on-one projects. The program includes Main Stage and Studio Theatre design opportunities, off-campus internships and a final senior project as well as workshops in resume and portfolio preparation. The Department of Theatre is a member of KCACTF (the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival) and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre. Admission is by portfolio and interview only. Admission Requirements

1. Students entering FIU as Freshmen

You are considered a freshman when you have earned less than 13 college credits since your high school graduation. Credits earned in Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate programs do not affect your freshman status.

All Theatre majors are Selective Admissions programs.
