Program Description
The BS in Physical Education program is designed for individuals who wish to become certified to teach physical education in the elementary and middle, and secondary schools. Upon successful completion of the program and the requirements specified by the Florida Department of Education, degree recipients are eligible for regular teacher certification in the State of Florida.
Admission Requirements
1. Students entering FIU as Freshmen or as a Transfer student with less than 60 transfer credits
Admissions criteria are the same as the general FIU criteria for students entering with fewer than 60 approved credits. Click here for the details.
o A minimum lower-division GPA of 2.00 or better on a 4.0 scale.
2. Transfer students entering FIU with 60 or more transfer credits
Admissions criteria are the same as the general FIU criteria for students entering with 60 or more approved credits. Click here for the details.
o A minimum lower-division GPA of 2.30 or better on a 4.0 scale.
