Program Description
Mathematics is important to all areas of our society and to almost any career. The two degree programs provide students with the opportunity to develop their analytical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving skills. The BS degree offers students the depth and rigor required for graduate studies in mathematics or related fields and also offers a broad background appropriate for students planning to pursue a job in a variety of careers in business, industry, government, or teaching. The BA with a major in Mathematics Education program provides students with pedagogical content knowledge and skills necessary to ensure their successful induction and long-term participation in the teaching profession and leads to a professional teaching certificate awarded by the Department of Education.
Admission Requirements
1. Students entering FIU as Freshmen or as a Transfer student with less than 60 transfer credits
