Accounting

This program provides the knowledge and skills needed to enter the fields of public, private sector, corporate and governmental accounting, or to pursue advanced degrees in accounting, business or law. For public accounting, you must pass the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination, which in Florida requires 30 credit hours beyond degree. Graduates are able to prepare and interpret financial statements for business, non-profit, and government enterprises; use accounting data to evaluate performance and enable decision making; apply principles related to the design, integrity, and effectiveness of accounting information systems; understand the role of auditing in society, including procedures and reporting requirements; and analyze legal, ethical and legislative constructs which govern the conduct of business.

Our Bachelor of Business Administration provides students a solid general education, a fundamental understanding of business concepts and practices, a deeper knowledge of the major areas of business and an appreciation of the role of business in society both in the United States and globally.

Architecture Accelerated Masters

The accelerated Master of Architecture program provides a seamless course of study that begins freshman year with pre-graduate studies, commences graduate studies in the third year, and leads to the conferral of the Professional Master of Architecture degree (M.Arch). The program is centered on an exciting sequence of design studios that leads the student from the basics of design through advanced architectural projects that explore structure, materials, building systems, site conditions, history/theory, digital design, and cultural context. Students are encouraged to study abroad in our Genoa center, take classes at our Miami Beach Urban Studio, and explore related fields in the College. Architects enjoy work in the private and public sectors and contribute in numerous ways to our built environment.

Art (BA)

The Bachelor of Arts in Art program is designed for students who do not wish to become professional artists, but who ultimately desire to teach at a primary or secondary level, or those students wishing to enter the art market in other capacities, such as working at galleries or museums. The BA in Art would also be the primary degree for those wishing to pursue a Masters of Art in Art Education, Museum Studies, or Arts Administration.

The Department of Art and Art History offers a BA in Art History that is designed to introduce methodologies and subjects of Art History from throughout the world. In addition to traditional European and American subjects from ancient to modern times, we offer a strong emphasis on Latin American art from Pre-Columbian to the present. The BA in Art History provides professional education as preparation for careers as art professionals and for further graduate study. The BA complements our BFA degree program in art and provides significant interaction between artists and historians.
