Program Description
Students in the Electrical Engineering (EE) program are trained in the areas of electronics and electromagnetism, nanotechnology, power and energy systems, communications,, controls, bio-engineering and computers. The objective is to provide excellence in education so that our graduates become critical thinkers, creative problem solvers and life-long learners. Our graduates are trained to stay current in their field of expertise and to excel in their respective organizations. Furthermore, the EE program provides students with a solid foundation necessary for pursuing advanced studies in the field of Electrical Engineering.
Admission Requirements
1. Students entering FIU as Freshmen or as a Transfer student with less than 60 transfer credits
Admissions criteria are the same as the general FIU criteria for students entering with fewer than 60 approved credits. Click here for the details.
2. Transfer students entering FIU with 60 or more transfer credits
Admissions criteria are the same as the general FIU criteria for students entering with 60 or more approved credits. Click here for the details.
A maximum of up to 90 credits can be transferred towards any individual program; that determination will be made by the program's advisor. Courses with design content that have been taken at other institutions will not be accepted against engineering design-designated courses at FIU.
