Program Description

The BSCS degree presents a course of study that includes mathematics, science, and computer science foundational topics necessary for the preparation of a successful computing professional. Students are taught skills in the art and science of computer programming that exposes them to program design, logic, computing theory, software engineering, and validation. Students develop software in our state of the art labs that offer a variety of operating system and interactive development environments. Typical jobs obtained by recent graduates include, computer programmer, computer analyst, and computer support specialist. The Software Development Track is for students who intend to pursue a software engineering career.

Admission Requirements

1. Students entering FIU as Freshmen or as a Transfer student with less than 60 transfer credits

Admissions criteria are the same as the general FIU criteria for students entering with fewer than 60 approved credits. Click here for the details.

2. Transfer students entering FIU with 60 or more transfer credits

Admissions criteria are the same as the general FIU criteria for students entering with 60 or more approved credits augmented with completion of COP-2210 with a grade of "C" or higher. Click here for the details.
